PUMPKIN PLEASERS.....

Last night we carved pumpkins. A tradition that Dave endures just to please me.
Mr. K chose a "horsey" template (go figure) for his jack-o-lantern. By the time Dave was done carving it and Keanon was in bed he opted for something "easier" for his masterpiece. My only contribution to the extravaganza was the addition of Keanon's name and stars to crown Dave's "Final Work". I must say I really like using a dremmel! It is a pumpkin carving enthusiast' must-have!

Oh, and thanks for indulging me Bates. All you have left is hanging the Christmas Lights and I will leave you alone for another whole year.

The view out our front window....and the sociological down-slide that got us there!

I sure hope tomorrow really is "Bulk Waste" pick-up day. If not I am thinking of posting this picture on Craigs List with the caption "No monetary reimbursement needed, just get it off my front lawn by Noon!"
So my question to you all is.... Has all of this remodleing turned us into white trash? Just proves people will ALWAYS suprise us! I mean I bet you never thought I would be one to have an old mattress in the front yard...or did you?

Childhood Memories....

Last Sunday, I walked into the living room and this is what I found. Boy did this adorable sight bring back visions of my childhood. On cold winter mornings we used to race to the heater vents in the front room and lay down with our blankets and "trap" the warm air. I think the fact that my house is identical in blueprint and era to my parents house where I was raised helped bring the memories flooding back.

Good Times with Aunt Feesha!

A couple of weekends ago while Dave was out hunting (fruitless I might add:( ), Keanon and I took a trip up north to see Felicia. We had a great time at a park (Keanon thought it was hilarious when I went down the slide head first and couldn't stop!) and went to dinner at IHOP. We hung out a Feesha's apartment and Keanon even found a guys wallet in the parking lot. Good times Feesh. Good times! We love you!

Keanon and his Blankies...

This is the blanket I am working on for Keanon. I don't know what it is about Fall but it makes me feel like being domestic. Keanon loves all things farm especially cows... so he helped me pick out the fabric. I am going to back it with satin(Keanon loves the silky!!!) but can't decide whether to put batting in it and tie it or just make it like a baby blanket with the satin binding and no innards. Any opinions?

Fall Harvest.....

I love canning. Ever since I was little I have watched my Mom and Grandma can every Fall. Everything from salsa to grape juice. What would Autumn be with out a little canned goodness? Well, this year we had a million grapes on our vine and my Mom had a few apples on her apple trees so I decided to make juice. It is pretty easy it is just time intensive. Well, that is what I thought.... but I guess the last time I trieds it I didn't have a two year old. Well one weekend later we have about 30 quarts of juice and still a million grapes on the vine. I always said if I could get 70 quarts we would be good for a year. We are well on our way.... Wine anyone? ( Non-alcoholic, I think!)

Fun Fall Fling...

These were taken last weekend while Dave and I were in Park City for our Anniversary. We left Keanon in Farmington with family and had a short lived but very enjoyable Fall Fling! I haven't seen fall colors this vivid or "alive" in years.

Just for you Shay...

Keanon's little cousin Hunter (actually my cousins son) tagged him so here goes!

Five things that we love about our Mr. K!!
Disclaimer: I can not sum up something so miraculous or humbling in words but alas I will try.

1~ He has many aliases including but not limited to: Bubba, Bubbers, Mr. K, Kink kink, Skinny, Kean, Keaner, Keany-Teeny-W------(censered for the conservative), and Little Man. (post a comment if you can think of any I have left out)

2~ He was adopted and he calls his Birth Mom "Mama Kate" and it has to be one of the cutest things I have ever heard!

3~ Is is the third child in our family tho we joke that he is the most "time-consuming". Go figure!!! The other two take up little physical energy or mass but tons of brain band width.

4~ He NEVER stops! Runnin, Runnin, Runnin!

5~ He loves all things FARM. Especially Cows and Horseys. I have now seen "Spirit, Horse if the Cimmeron" 6 times and he just got it on Sunday. ( Thanks a lot Ganma Sanny! No really I actually had time to do the dishes yesterday.)

I can not say how much this little Munchkin runs my life but I wouldn't want it any other way. I lay next to him at nap time and just hold him wondering how I got to be so blessed. He is everything a Mother could ever want ( or handle) and I am so proud to have the privilidge of being chosen to be his Mother.
(I am eternally in debt to you Kate... you made my dream come true!)

Five little friends that Keanon would like to tag:
1~Scotty
2~Jason
3~Connor
4~Hayden
5~Nicole
