The view out our front window....and the sociological down-slide that got us there!

I sure hope tomorrow really is "Bulk Waste" pick-up day. If not I am thinking of posting this picture on Craigs List with the caption "No monetary reimbursement needed, just get it off my front lawn by Noon!"
So my question to you all is.... Has all of this remodleing turned us into white trash? Just proves people will ALWAYS suprise us! I mean I bet you never thought I would be one to have an old mattress in the front yard...or did you?

just remember that it is out of your house and now you have so much more room!!! Jerry routinely makes runs to the transfer station with loads at least that big!

In Guatemala, they have a tradition that happens near the beginning of December. They clean their houses and put it all on the curb, or near the street or path that goes in front of the house/shack, they they set it on fire. The first time this happened it whole city was filled with smoke and neither my companion nor I knew what what happening, but it was almost like something out of a movie. So, my advice to you, if they don't take it, tomorrow night, just set it on fire, and when the police and fire department show up, just tell them you are following your roots, that happen to be in Guatemala. Or I guess an alternative would be to take it all to a questionable part of town and drop it off in someone's yard. They will either be happy to have new stuff, or it will fit in and they won't care.

Just a couple of days before Connor was due, Sandy City - in all their infinite wisdom - decided to do a little construction on our street. They actually parked - I am NOT LYING - a port-a-poty DIRECTLY in front of our house. I had all these horrible visions of everyone coming to meet Connor with this atrocity parked out front (I should have taken pictures, I guess my humor was running a little short then). Some of my friends offered to decorate it and my BFF Steph commented on the nice half bath Lonny had put in for me. Thank goodness it was gone by the time we brought him home!!! So nah, I don't think you are quite white trash yet. Now throw a port a poty and a bunch of old tires out there and maybe I will reconsider - oh and leave it out there all winter!!

Eh, don't beat yourself up. I didn't even notice it, and I'm only what, five doors down?

Besides, it's so much nicer to have them come by and pick it up twice a year than it is to haul it away!

AND, if you want to talk about a down-slide, focus your attention about 100 yards to the east... talk about a sociological down-slide! :)
